Start a Club

It couldn’t be easier…

Starting a club is the best way to safeguard the future of kitesports in your area.  Experience tells us that areas with established clubs have far fewer problems with access or other issues.  Local authorities like having a defined group and representative to deal with and tend to be more supportive when kitesports participants show they can work together.

We’ll help you to get your club started and will provide sample documents and templates to make things easier.

To start a club you’ll need to do the following:

  • Have a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer – this is the minimum number of elected officers we’d recommend.  You can have far more than that but don’t get too carried away.
  • Provide – and keep updated – a list of all committee members
  • Provide all relevant documentation in order to be covered under the British Kitesports policy
  • Provided a constitution
  • Provide location specific site and risk assessments for all primary kiting locations and disciplines undertaken
  • Have a bank account set up for the club
  • Ensure that all Club members are British Kitesports members
  • Have a club website
  • Have a club facebook page
