BKSA Affiliated Watersports Centre Planned for Worthing

Former windsurfing World Champion and Olympian, Christine Johnston, gets planning for watersports container building facilities at Worthing Beach.

Christine Johnston, founder of The Kite, Surf & SUP Co. LTD watersports school(established 2014), has been given planning permission for a container building opposite Worthing beach to support her watersports business.

Address: Car Park West, Brooklands Pleasure Park, Brighton Road. Application number: AWDM/1537/22

The Kite, Surf & SUP Co. LTD was established in 2014 and since then has been delivering kitesurfing, SUP and wing lessons at Worthing Beach. Christine says:
“We mostly teach kitesurfing, but the new buzz sport of wing foil, saw a surge in popularity in 2022 and we’re expecting wing foil to continue to grow in popularity in 2023.”

The container building will make Christine’s business one of the only kitesurfing schools in the immediate area with a building for a base, aiding with equipment storage, changing facilities and being a meeting point.
She believes this will differentiate her offering from other businesses and help her business to continue to thrive and grow.

Christine is running a Prize Draw to win £4467 of Ozone kitesurfing kit to raise money for the new container building, which she says will provide vital facilities for the watersports
community at Worthing and she has big plans for the future, she intends to apply for planning for a larger development in the same space.
