Cicumnavigation of the Isle of Wight
On the week of the 17th March 2008 Chirs Bull BKSA Coach and Examiner will be attempting to circumnavigate the Isle Of Wight by kite surfing anticlockwise around the island and by doing so raise money for the R.N.L.I. (in particular the Hayling Island and Bembridge stations).
No one has achieved this before and Chris is hoping it will make it into the Guinness Book of Records.
He first attempted this in 2004 and got 90% of the way round the island but was let down by the wind near the finish so he is hoping to complete it this time.
It is well over 90km in distance and is very difficult to achieve due to lots of varying conditions with wind speed, wind quality, tide, currents and navigating around the island, plus the physical endurance of kite surfing for over six hours.
The R.N.L.I. do a fantastic job and provide an invaluable service on our coastlines and as a volunteer lifeboat crew member himself it is a charity very dear to his heart.
