East Beach Open

The EBO is a series of six freestyle Kitesurf events that will run one a month from may until October.

Run on a voluntary basis a group of dedicated kitesurfers from in and around the essex kitesurf club will present a chance for amateur men ,women and pro men to compete in 5minute heats in the best conditions possible for the spot at southend.

This is made possible by only calling the event on when the conditions are right ,with a month waiting period per event this gives us a greater chance of scoring wind during any given weekend, the official call will be made here before each event .

Freestyle Kitesurfing has no boundaries so whatever your style of riding you can compete equally as the judging criteria is based on speed into and out of the trick, technicality and clean landings ,as we witnessed last year its not always the most radical wakestyler that wins every heat if you cannot stick your landings

Most of all if you have or haven’t competed in a Kitesurf event before you’ll definitely leave with a smile on your face,
its fun and exiting and a great way to meet and learn from other kiteboarders, of course there can only be one winner but that’s just a small part of the whole experience .

This year we have extended the series to six events with  your best four results counting towards the final standings to reveal who
will be the Eastbeach open champion.
