This is the third year in a row that the KB4Girls Global Tour has visited Lancing, and it is set to be another amazing one! It is a 3-day event kicking off with registration on the 27th July, and every year sees a gathering of like-minded, friendly and generally amazing girls who come together to push their riding. With the event kicking off the same day as the Olympic Games in London, there will be Olympic themed elements of the weekend. There are ‘Mini Olympics’ planned on the  Saturday Evening ‘social’, and of course a viewing of the Olympics Opening Ceremony on the Friday night as part of the registration process (anyone planning on going up to the Opening Parade/ceremony on the 27th can always register on the Saturday instead).

Participating girls will be grouped with others of a similar level to work together with Kristin and other pro-coaches to push their riding and hopefully nail some new tricks. Of course there will be the obligatory Saturday night party – this year with a Fancy Dress code (come as an athlete from any Olympic Sport!).

To participate in this event you are asked to fundraise money for KB4Girls Lancing’s chosen Charity – St.Barnabas House.

As many of you know, earlier this year Lancing’s local community was devastated to hear of the tragic passing away of kitesurfer Fiona Claisse. Fiona died on the 18th January 2012 after battling Bowel Cancer and is sadly missed and remembered by many. St Barnabas House offered Fi and her husband Rob crucial support and advice from the minuite she was diagnosed right through to her final days. Rob has told us about his upmost respect and praise for the nurses and doctors who helped to make Fi’s final weeks far more happy and relaxed, and has already raised over £36000 to in his words “help St Barnabas to continue to be able to offer such tremendous service that we would have been lost without”.

Spot Overview : Chosen for the third year in a row to host a KB4Girls Global event, Lancing is a popular South Coast kiting destination for many reasons, and regularly sees pro-riders on it’s shores. Lancing can deliver a range of conditions, but the event this year is timed perfectly to co-incide with low tides. So you can expect shallow water with plenty of beach to launch and land on. The wind and weather is always a surprise in Europe, no matter where you are. So although everyone hopes for beautiful winds and sunny skies, don’t forget to bring your brolly! 😉 The wind generally blows from the South-West and Lancing commonly gets ‘Sea-Breezes’ throughout the summer, providing steady 20mph+ wind conditions.

Accommodation & Directions : Once again the New Sussex Pub are allowing FREE CAMPING in their pub garden for free! (shower facilities available). They also have rooms to rent (but get in quick!) This is right opposite Lancing Beach and will be the Event’s base for the weekend. There are also many B&B’s available locally if camping isn’t your thing 🙂

Directions and other additional information will be sent out 2 weeks before the event.

Maximum Number of Participants : 30
