Kiteboard Park Jam

The Kiteboard Park Jam is to be the first event of its kind ever held in the UK, now confirmed for Bembridge on the Isle of Wight over the weekend of the 11th – 12th October.

The event will utilise the UK’s first “Kite Park” consisting of a series of sliders, rails and kickers carried out into the shallow flat water off the Isle of Wight.

The park will be available to practice on during the week leading up to the event and then over the weekend a Jam style competition will run where riders will judge each other on who they think performed best out on the water with prizes from Liquid Force, NPX and Island Surf.

Along with the Kite Park there will be a Saturday night party and throughout the latest ’09 liquid force gear to demo too.

Incase of light wind the Park Jam has a wakeboard boat and jet ski provided by Headfirst and a winch by Island Surf all on standby to ensure riding will happen!

Local kite boarder and Liquid Force team rider Chris Burke who has constructed the park and organised the event said, “It’s great to have the opportunity to put on such an event, there has never been anything like it held in the UK and it’s a style of riding that’s rapidly growing the world over taking the sport in new directions.

The Island is such an amazing location for kiteboarding and this sort of riding, it will be great to have the park set up here and used.

It’s been a lot of work to develop the park and the event which wouldn’t have been possible without its sponsors; Head First, Liquid Force, NPX and Island Surf, we’re all eagerly awaiting the event”
