Kitesurf issue # 86

kitesurfmay14The latest issue of Kitesurf has a bit of a Caribbean twist…. First up with Kirsty Jones and the North team. She may not have the best sea-legs on the planet, but Kirsty Jones doesn’t mind putting herself out there. Here she takes us through her latest sickness-inducing adventure to the Caribbean with team NKB. A perfect boat, a lot of kiting, and a bit of Rastafarian culture too… Chapter two of our Caribbean investigation takes us to the island of Nevis, favoured Caribbean haunt for celebrity getaways. He may not often grace the pages of Heat magazine, but Matt Pearce probably felt like a star (sorry….) when he scored a couple of utterly perfect and completely empty spots on the island…
We also take a look at the best attended event in kitesurfing’s history… This year’s KOTA hit the jackpot in terms of exposure and crowd engagement. A few riders also hit the jackpot in terms of nailing some of the biggest and some of the extremest moves ever seen in our sport, and one other rider hit the jackpot in terms of YouTube hits for his cringe inducing slam… Lewis Crathern was our man on the ground.
Then we take a look at a kiting scene with a few less attendees on the beach. With Scando-crime dramas taking over our televisions, time to check in and see if they also have some equally impressive kiting entertainment to offer us. Swedish resident Arild Kristiansen, fresh back from an Indo trip, takes us through the set up.
Add to that all of the usual columns, news and tests, and there really is no excuse…
