Meak Cup 2009

Our Charity Kite Event is back!

It’s the 4th year in a row, and it may seem like they have been there, done that, but each time is clearly worthwhile going back for judging by the amount of returnees!

The 4th Charity event will be on the 6 – 8th February 2009 and it is a 3 day event with a whole week of events which can be viewed on the Prosurf Extreme website, photos from the last Charity events are posted on the image gallery and once more in support of MEAK Medical and Educational Aid to Kenya.

Every year, Pro riders or up and coming new blood in the BKSA are sponsored with accommodation at Nyali beach Hotel for the whole event week, riders are asked to contact Prosurf with kiting credentials to apply for one of the sponsored rider places as 10 more places have just been released. During the event week the centre will be open for business as usual and courses, lessons and kiting will still be ongoing throughout. The itinerary is online and includes an Extreme Down winder, Race Day, Expression session and Fire jumping Session(optional!).

The emphasis is on raising money for Kenyan’s who need eye and heart surgery, during a week of un-ranked fun giving PR and press exposure for riders, as well as evening entertainment every day of the week.

Rider entry fee will be £35 and this will be payable online, as there is a limited entry, kiters are asked to register before 1st February 2009.

“The charter flights to Mombasa are on offer to book now and to get 47% off during Jan and Feb (2009) covering our event period and windy season, so it will be much easier for people to get here.” says Natalie Bland, Director for Prosurf Extreme Kenya and UK. “ Monarch’s special offer has really helped keep the cost down, and we are grateful that companies like Monarch take this sort of initiative to keep travel flowing to Kenya.”

The 2009 event is sponsored and hosted by: Prosurf Extreme, Nyali beach Hotel and Tamarind Restaurant.
