The UK’s most popular kitesurf magazine has announced the appointment of a new editor, with Alex Hapgood taking the reins from the next issue. Previous editor, Dom Moore, who had been with Kitesurf for five years and overseen a fantastic period of expansion and development for the magazine, has taken up the role of European Sales Manager with Ocean Rodeo.

Alex is a highly experienced writer and editor, having worked on the editorial team for Orca Publications (publishers of Carve, ThreeSixty and SurfGirl), and had his work published in several other magazines and in books. He lives in Hayle, Cornwall, and has been kitesurfing since 2003. “This is a dream job for me,” explained Alex. “I’ve always loved Kitesurf Magazine and to get the top job is just awesome. Dom’s done great things with the mag over the last few years and I look forward to building on his work, and also to putting my own spin on things. This is a fantastic period for British kiting, with so many promising riders doing great things, and I’m excited to be in a position to reflect this through the magazine, as well as reflecting what’s happening within the sport in general.”

Kitesurf magazine will also be working closely with PKRA staff photographer Toby Bromwich, who will be bringing content both from the tour, and from top riders around the world.

Alex is keen to hear from kiters with ideas for the magazine, and from anyone who thinks they may have something to offer. Send him an email at [email protected]  The next issue of Kitesurf Magazine is out in September.
