SNOWKITE MASTERS 2013.
Tuesday, the 8th of january 2013
Tuesday, 8th of january, the French & World Championship 2013 in Freestyle kicked off today at 10am with the riders meeting.
It was an amazing day full of Single Elimination action.
At 10:30, Matthias Charton, Race Director of the SKM launched the day with some new “mOOdules“ on the spot!
The Single Elimination started with Snowboard Men, in order to finish the first heats.
The level was pretty high.
After the first specatular Snowboard went Ski and Snowboard Women.
At the moment, Kari Schibevaag from Norway leads the women fleet in the two disciplines Snowboard and Ski, followed by Muriel Vandenbempt (France/Ski) and Leila Nouar (France/Ski).
In Snowboard, Estelle Lambelet is momently on second place with Muriel Vandenbempt on third.
Unfortunately, Estelle took to much risk in the last seconds of that heat and felt down on her hand. Hopefully, she will be going on tomorrow.
The competition went on with the half final of men ski. The french riders Benoît Miquel and Laurent Sublet were heating against each other in the final, followed by a russian heat of Anton Cherkshin and Anton Uzgegov in the looser final.
After lunch break directly on the sunny spot, the competion went into second round in Snowboard with the winner of the haf final Schuilenburg , Zach, Chastagnol and Toverud.
Heat 11 between Garashchenko and Chastagnol was the highlight of the day – risk, quality, quantity and lots of technical tricks made the decision of the three judges not easy.
Before, the men heats went on, the race director, switched again to compete the Ski Men Final. Laurent Sublet won that heat and took advantage to Benoît Miquel.
Winner of the looser final was Anton Uzhegov before Cherkashin.
