Windsurfing4CancerResearch (W4CR) is running a nationwide fundraising event open to windsurfers, kitesurfers and all other sailors. The idea of this fun event is to get as many sailors as possible on the water this Sunday 3rd May to raise money for cancer research, education & support.
Register now for this FREE TO ENTER event at www.sunrisesunset.wsYou can register to sail at any of the 22 locations around the UK, Ireland and Holland shown on the event map. It’s too late now to send out sail and car stickers before the event but there will be supplies at each venue.
There should be a large turn out in particular at the event’s home venue, Hayling Island, to join Dave White who will be on the water from Sunrise. Dave is fronting the event for David Tuttlebee, a Hayling windsurfer, who has been undergoing chemotherapy since October last year for the recurrence of cancer after only 18 months clear.
You can download the sponsor form from the Resources section of the website and get your family and friends to support your efforts. You can also set up your own fundraising page at JustGiving.com. If you raise over £25.00 in sponsorship your name will go into a FREE PRIZE DRAW.
On the day, it will be a FUN event (not competitive) so you can sail for however long you like. Some sailors are planning to be on the water at sunrise and sunset. A few are hoping to sail all day – about 15 hours!
Windsurfing4CancerResearch is registered charity number 1128492 and all proceeds will go towards cancer research, education and support.
