Van Surf 2009

VanSurf 2009

This event started last year a proved to be very popular and is now back this year for all to enjoy. The brainchild of  kiteboarder come VW camper enthusiast, he quickly realized that a large percentage of VW camper owners lifestyle revolved around water sports. After coming back from several VW camper shows wondering why there wasn’t a show that combine peoples love of water sports and campers the idea of VanSurf was born.

Interest people don’t require to have a VW camper to attend this event but you probably will want one after you leave. The main the theme of VanSurf is based around kiteboarding with demo kit available for all to try and advise for newbees. A large section of beach is reserved also for land boards ,buggies and general kite flying. Though kites are the main theme surf is also in the mix of fun to be had, hire boards available and a VW cruise is planned on the Sunday from Black Rock Sands to Hells Mouth.

Set on one of Britons best kiteboarding locations for beginners to advanced riders, Blackrock Sands Beach has the bonus of allowing the Vans to be parked directly on the beach, with hard compact sands for buggies and lagoons for flat-water heaven up to a mile long this truly is a great location.

The campsite holding the VanSurf is located at the end of the beach and has a designated area for VanSurfers with a central Event tent for social drinking and anyone to show of the evening entertainment skills. During the night entertainment a raffle is held with goodies from sponsors to help raise money for the RLNI an obvious charity for kitesurfing.
