Velocity Festival – Ride & Slide

23^rd and 24^thJune Morecambe Bay Kite Surfing Club will be hosting ‘Ride & Slide’, part of the ‘Velocity Festival’.

Thanks to the support of Lancaster City Council, local sponsors and the British Kite Surfing Association, Morecambe is to be the venue for a weekend of sports. The highlight of this will be the Bay Area Kite Surfing Clubs ‘Ride n Slide’ Kite Surfing Event.

It is anticipated that some of the best UK kite surfing talent will come to show off their skills and with so many top riders based in the North it is sure to be a fantastic spectacle.

Over the weekend there will be kite surfing competitions, demonstrations and kite taster sessions.

A rail and kicker are being set up near the Battery breakwater and to give riders an extra challenge and show off their best tricks.

Whilst the event is basically a fun weekend where all can try out riding the rail of jumping the kicker, for the more talented riders there will be competitions to enter.

Competitions will run on both days with a ‘Big Air’ challenge on Saturday where riders will try and pull off huge jumps and a best trick competition on Sunday over the kicker and rail.

The weekend will be a great spectacle and a chance to see what a fantastic and exciting sport kite surfing is. You can also try out kayaking or sailing which is also being demonstrated by our local sports clubs.
